New Delhi, India, Camel Troopers
One day before India’s “National Day,” a major festival like America’s July 4, I quietly entered the restricted parade grounds in the capital, New Delhi, as horse, camel, and elephant troopers practiced getting into formation. Fortunately, I was able to get dozens of exciting photos before some guards challenged my credentials, which I explained had been “misplaced,” and politely asked me to leave.
